  "Heartstrings"

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

The crystal horns of her crown of ice
Glow beneath the filtered light,
In arcades of the most glist\'ning white,
Where Myrhichia awaits her rise.

Such necromancy was never veiled,
To stanch her wounds when drysians failed,
She used the blood of magnolias,
And whispered spells in ancient tongues

Asleep within her cradle of thorns,
A bed which spiked oleander adorns,
The Nightmare Queen turns all her dreams,
And listens to blood curdling screams.

Myrhichia waits in gardens of red,
Beyond yon path of hope and dread.
The fallacy of pasts relies,
On pomengranite choked with lies.

Her heartstrings pluck a fatal tune,
Which bleeds her ears out as she swoons.
The draconic fires within her eyes
Are etched like glass, no details spared.

In Nocturne, may she rest her torment,
And stop her voiceless darkenss\'s sounds,
Wherein the haunts of mortal dreading,
Under statures, cold and mute.

Cursed and mesmerised she waits,
In a damned and sickly, saddened state.
Where lovers rot, she\'ll forever dwell,
In crypts and graves, with the dark and fell.

As the music of her heartstrings sounds,
The burning fear sparks in her eyes.
The Ruler of False Dreams comes forth,
And smiles, polite, yet cruel with wrath.

note: met the poet at winmx, sharing the same dark music... she gave this to me to publish at my fanzine, Frustrated Freak Beat. But unfortunately, due to lack of funds (ha!) time and energy (of course...) the first issue was never published. So I guess I owe her to at least post it here.

  and the moon saw us all...

Tuesday, January 25, 2005

Posted by Hello

looked at the sky January 24, Monday night.
I noticed a smoke trail in a straight line. looks like that of a jet plane passed by. my eyes followed the line... and saw the moon with a ring of shadow around it. it was so beautiful. so I took a picture of it with my phone cam.

  MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY

Monday, January 17, 2005

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
I'm passing by the inevitable hill
In a subway train, above the ground.
Through windows of light I see death
And am reminded of the life I am to live.
Mount Pleasant, someday I'll share your pleasure.
For that tombstone cross reminds me
Of the One who died to save my life
And rose again to share it.
Someday I'll die and rise to Him,
And He'll put on me a new robe of light
Which overcomes the darkness
And reminds death it is defeated.
  Unnamed Gazes
Saturday, January 15, 2005
by: Richard Garnett
the weight of a day lifted
one gram, one particle at a time
in an opening to last skies
singing for recognition ...
in a Verdian gaze that catches mine,
reaching through an artificial despair --
seeking refuge,
an unkowable stairway,
climbing from a bottomless void --
without goal or hope
in an oppressing inertia --
worse somehow than unfolding dangers
that at least have the courage
to accept a name .
  SHE
Monday, January 10, 2005
by: Aaron Cometbus
SHE KISSES WITH HER MOUTH OPEN. SHE DOESN'T WEAR UNDERWEAR. ON YOUR FIRST DATE TOGETHER YOU BOTH GET SCARS. ON YOUR SECOND DATE, YOU MAKE OUT IN THE PARK. ON YOUR THIRD DATE WHEN SHE SAYS ITS NOT NORMALLY LIKE THIS, IT'S A COMPLIMENT. BUT THINGS ARE AWKWARD AFTER THAT, SO YOU GIVE HER A CHANCE TO DUMP YOU NICELY. YOU ASK IF SHE WANTS YOU TO STOP CHASING HER. TO YOUR SURPRISE, SHE SAYS NO. YOU PICK ORANGES TO GIVE HER ON THE FOURTH DATE BUT THEY TURN GREEN WAITING FOR HER TO CALL.
SHE IS THE BEST THING THAT' HAPPENED ALL YEAR. SHE GETS YOU DRUNK IN HER BED AND YOU ARE IN HEAVEN. WHEN YOU'VE GOT YOUR HEADS PRESSED TOGETHER, SHE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A BLURRY ONE-EYED MONSTER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES THAT CLOSE. YOU BLINK AND SHE DOESN'T SUDDENLY APPEAR TO BE YOUR TENTH GRADE ENGLISH TEACHER OR YOUR SISTER OR YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES. YOU BLINK AND SHE LOOKS LIOKE A MOVIE STAR.YOU BLINK AND SHE LOOKS LIKE YOUR SECRET CRUSH. YOU BLINK AND SHE LOOKS LIKE AN OLD FRIEND, THEN LIKE A RAD GIRL YOU SAW ONLY ONCE YEARS BEFORE. SHE LOOKS LIKE EVERYONE YOU'VE EVER WANTED TO BE IN BED WITH, AND ITS GETTING WEIRD, AND YOU CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY YOU KEEP BLINKING AND STARING AT HER. SHE FALLS ASLEEP BEFORE YOU, AND SHE GETS SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL SLEEPING, SHE IS RADIANT. SHE IS DIFFERENT IN THE MORNING THOUGH. SHE HAS CHANGED HER MIND AND YOU HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY. YOU HAVE FAILED HER TEST. SHE ADDS INSULT TO INJURY BY TRYING TO SET YOU UP WITH HER FRIEND. SHE MAKES PLANS TO SEE YOU THE NIGHT BEFORE YOU LEAVE ON A LONG TRIP. SHE DOESN'T SHOW UP AND DOESN'T CALL. YOU REMEMBER WHEN SHE SAID SHE WAS FROM HELL AND WOULD RUIN YOUR LIFE, AND YOU'D THOUGHT SHE WAS JOKING.
SHE CAPTURES YOUR ATTENTION AND YOUR IMAGINATION AND THEN YOUR HEART. SHE TELLS YOU ABOUT LIVING IN A BUS STATION WHEN SHE WAS FOURTEEN. SHE TELLS YOU ABOUT DOING SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS IN SO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES THAT SHE'S EITHER FOURTY YEARS OLD OR SHE'S ONE HELL OF A LIAR. SHE IS ONLY 23. SHE LIVES IN A CLOSET. DOWN ON THE WATERFRONT, SHE TEACHES YOU HOW TO USE OIL PAINTS, THE DARK COLORS FIRST. SHE DIGS THE VEGETABLES OUT OF THE DUMPSTER AND TOSSES THEM OVER THE FENCE TO YOU. SHE FINDS CLOTHES BUT THEY'RE TOO NEW AND UNCOMFORTABLE, SO YOU BOTH PUT THEM ON AND GO DRAGGING EACH OTHER AROUND TOWN, THROWING EACH OTHER IN PUDDLES, WRESTLING EACH OTHER IN THE DIRT. THEN THE CLOTHES ARE FIVE SIZES BIGGER AND WORN IN JUST RIGHT. SHE STARTS HANGING OUT WITH YOUR WORST ENEMY, BUT SAYS IT'S NOT LIKE THAT. YOU SAY IT IS OR AT LEAST IT'S GOING TO BE AND SHE COULD'VE AT LEAST GIVEN YOU A MONTH HEADSTART TO RUN LIKE HELL. SHE SAYS ITS NOT LIKE THAT. THREE DAYS LATER, IT IS LIKE THAT, AND SHE SAYS ITS YOUR FAULT. SHE LEAVES ON AN AIRPLANE WITH YOUR WORST ENEMY. IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE HOME WITH BOTH OF THEM OUT OF YOUR WAY, BUT YOU'RE ALSO LEAVING THAT DAY, FIVE HOURS LATER, ON AN AIRPLANE HEADING IN THE SAME DIRECTION. ON THE AIRPLANE RADIO, HER SONG COMES OUT.
SHE IS THE LAST GIRL IN THE WORLD YOU SHOULD EVER FALL INLOVE WITH, BUT IT'S TOO LATE. SHE TELLS YOU SHE LOVES YOU, THEN IN THE MORNING SAYS SHE WAS ON DRUGS AND DIDN'T MEAN IT. SHE TAKES THE PRESENTS YOU GIVE HER AND GIVES THEM TO OTHER GIRLS WHO SHE SAYS LIKE YOU MORE. SHE TAKES THE LIST OF YOUR WORST FEARS AND USES IT AS A CHECKLIST, MAKING THEM HAPPEN ONE BY ONE. YOU LOSE, AND THEN YOU LOSE HER TOO, AND LOSING HER FEELS LIKE HAVING EVERY GIRL IN THE WORLD AND THEN LOSING THEM ALL. SHE BRINGS YOU TO LIFE AND THEN BRINGS YOU TO DEATH. SHE SAYS THAT AS LONG AS YOU LOVE HER AND SHE LOVES YOU, ALL THE SHIT THAT'S HAPPENED DOESN'T REALLY MATTER. UNFORTUNATELY, IT DOES MATTER TO YOU.
  Amid the chaos and misery emerge remarkable tales of survival
Friday, January 07, 2005
Just when the world thought it has seen the worst calamity of the year, comes something that will forever be printed in history books.
Reading the papers since after christmas, seem to always bring me down. Searching for a missing friend, I get distraught, ending up with no results. Adding up the thought of Real, Quezon and Aurora, provinces of the Philippines, still struggling from the Typhoons that swept the region days before Christmas; and aside from the almost 150,000 dead and countless more still missing brought by the tsunami after Christmas, there are a few stories that I read which gave me the goosebumps.
Amid the chaos and misery brought by the tumultuous waves of water that shattered the lives of millions of people last December, heart-wrenching cases continue to suface from the devastation.
►> In one rare success story that stunned rescue workers, Anthony Praveen, 8, opened his eyes and sat up as grave diggers were about to burry him in the southeren-indian town of Velankanni.
He was in a stupor (trance-like coma) among a pile of corpses taken from a morgue to be burried at a beach grave and only managed to communicate at the nick of time, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post reported from the town.
►> In Malaysia, a fishing boat rescued an Acehnese woman who had been drifting in the Indian Ocean for five days after being washed away by the force of waves. Housewife Malawati, 23, was found floating alive Friday not far from the shores of Indonesia's Aceh, the area hardest hit by the Dec.26 disaster, a malaysian International Tuna Port official told Bernama news Agency. The woman, sun-burnt and suffering fish bites, was clinging to an uprooted palm trunk which had clusters of fruit on it, helping her get through the ordeal.
►> Another resident of Aceh named Rizal Shahputra was found alive about 160 km from the shores of the province on Monday, eight days after the waves swept this area in the island of Sumatra. He survived floating on huge tree branches.
►> Another amazing tale of survival involved 6-year-old Zoe Shiu, who escaped the tragedy that ravaged Thailand's western coast by clinging to a large floating sofa cusion. The little girl who has US and Thai passports, was playing in the swimming pool of the Sofitel Magic Lagoon resort in Khao Lak north of Phuket when the onrushing water swept the Andaman coast.
She clung to the cusion which eventually led her to an overturned boat that a hotel maid was also reaching for. The two managed to turn over the boat and got in safely. The lucky girl was the only one in her family known to have survived, Singapore News reports said.
►> Tens of thousands of children were killed in the horror of that day, too small and too weak to have the strength to hold unto trees or debris, which makes new-born S.Tulasi extremely lucky to have survived.
The 20-day-old baby was sleeping on a mattress which floated her way to safety after Malaysia's Penang Island was hit by walls of water, local media reported.
